DIY Cold Plunge Stock Tank - Chiller Plumbing Build Guide

The cold plunge cover fits perfectly. I bought the 100 gallon Rubbermaid tank from tractor supply for the kit. The greatest part is the locks on the cover. Great peace of mind when you have small curious children.

Great kit. Nathan was a big help when I had questions during install. MUCH BETTER upgrade than the cheap OEM plunge pump. This should have been the way they were made from the beginning.

The DIY kit was incredibly easy to use and the install video was so helpful through every step. I fully expected something to leak or to have missed a step along the way but was so pleased when I filled my tub that everything was running smoothly. Nathan helped answer all my questions for my particular setup and couldn’t be happier with the level of customer support from Plunge Crafters.

Exactly what I needed. I wanted to DIY but also wanted to buy pieces I can trust to not be bad quality since it’s hard to do via Amazon and even Home Depot. My tub is 1/2 inch so I had to get a reducer but seems to be working well. I put all of this into a cheap deck box with the filter hanging on the outside. Power strip inside so it’s basically a box I can move with a single cord for my inflatable tub.

I would give 5 stars, but I was missing part of the order. I sent them an email and they sent the missing parts, I put it on my plunge tub, and everything is great.

This kit saved me so much headache and procrastination. Comes with easy to read instructions and has pictures! To top it all off though it comes with immediate support and response from the plunge crafters team.
I ran into a couple of snags with not aligning the bulkheads to the hole properly (rushing) and got immediate help from Nathan. I also bought the light kit and was having an issue getting it to fit and again Nathan was super quick to coach me through it.

Don’t waste time and money trying to find all the right pieces when doing your own DIY build.
I bought a 150 gallon stock tank from tractor supply, an chiller from walmart and this kit and poof, this thing was built in one afternoon … no brainer and it’s a great price! What’s not to like!

I was hesitant to tackle this job. First "plumbing" job in my life. The written instructions were detailed with images to follow step by step.

Start to finish took me about 7 hours alone (inexperienced.) No problems at all with great custom service!

Plunge Crafters responded to a question I posted on a Cold Plunge DIY FB group about upgrading my cold plunge setup. They recommended a kit that added a full house filter, high flow Danner pump, ozone generator and 3/4" plumbing. Since it wasn't the setup Plunge Crafters was designed for, I needed to modify it to suit my Ice Barrel 500 and 1/2 HP chiller. Each time I reached out to Plunge Crafters for assistance they responded with answers and guidance immediately. I couldn't imagine attempting this on my own. Thank you Plunge Crafters for such an awesome kit, it's working extremely well for me.

The kit really includes everything you need (except for the screws to mount the filter). Once you get the hang of the PVC primer and glue, the build starts to fly by.

Great kit that Plunge Crafters has put together! The Danner pump in the kit is far heavier duty than the one originally installed on the Gen1 Plunge and I have no doubt it will last for years of use. The kit has everything you need to do the install/swap other than the PVC cement. The change from the proprietary fittings on the Plunge pump to the universal couplers is a great move, as it allows the pump to be quickly removed far easier than the original pump. Getting the AC/DC transformer out of the component box was a welcome change, as it freed up a ton of space. The YouTube video instructions for install were clear and easy to follow, and I was able to get replacement done in less than 90 minutes. Great product!

I was very impressed at the ease of replacing this pump. Had I not found Plunge Crafter's fix for this pump issue, I was about to buy my 3rd replacement pump 🤦‍♂️

The kit comes with everything you need except the pvc cement and a hose cutter and the insulating foam. All of which I'd never used before and found it to be a fun Sunday project.

A bonus: this pump is much quieter than the Orig pump too!

Overall pretty easy to use. A little short on the hosing if you’re making something different than the instructional video.

The pump works. I did call a plumber to install it. I think that I could’ve installed it myself, but I am glad that I called a plumber. I am happy with the new pump. The best part about the new pump is that it has standard fittings. The proprietary pump in the original tub did not have standard fittings. I standard fittings I mean the kind that are on regular garden hoses three-quarter inch or 19.2 mm those are standard fittings. This pump has standard fittings. The proprietary pump did not.

Installed the new pump in 35 minutes, the installation video was super helpful

Loved the DIY instructions, much better quality than what I could have come up with. Parts were great and work well. I combined with a 1hp chiller, stock tank and insulated cover to make one hell of a cold plunge. It does take some time to get everything right, but very much worthwhile.

Chiller and filter kit was super easy to set up. Keeps the water at 35 and works great!

Great kit. Quality components and well put together. Thank you very much. My Penguin chillers had 1in connections so I had to find adapters. Consider offering a 1in kit for other chillers in the future and I might upgrade. Thanks again.
